Roles Overview
There are currently five roles in Quotec which you can assign to your users; these will determine what your user has access to within the system and what tasks they can complete. These five roles can be used either individually or in tandem with other roles .
If you set a user’s role as “Admin”, this will give them complete access to your system. You do not need to assign them any other roles.
Admin users can assign roles from the user page, for instructions on this see Updating Existing Users
Admin users have access to every part of Quotec from designing jobs to viewing accounts information and updating pricing. They can edit all defaults, settings and information for the company including the proposal templates, pricing details and building categories settings. These users will also be able to update the company payment method, subscription and invite additional users to the company.
A Sales Rep can design and quote their own jobs. They also have access to all customer records and their own calendar dashboard. They cannot purchase jobs or see any created by a different user. They also don’t have access to purchase order screens, analytics dashboards or any account information.
Sales Managers have more access then a sales rep and are able to view and edit jobs made by any user as well as purchase all jobs. These users can also edit and view purchase orders, have access to all customer recorders and can view the calendar dashboard of each user. As a Sales Manager they will also be able to view the analytics dashboards showing sales for the company and sales by user. However, they cannot change pricing files or other account settings, nor can they view accounts information.
An Accounts user has access to the company transaction records and can view jobs created by all users, including the margin details.
Purchase Power is an additional role which can be used in conjunction with the Sales Rep role. With this role, a user will be able to purchase jobs, and view and edit purchase orders. Using the Sales Rep and Purchase Power roles together allows for a step between Sales Rep and Sales Manager.
