Version 1.40 - Release Notes

This will be our last release for 2023. The major feature for this release is an oft requested one - partition walls! It’s a beautiful thing. We have made an adjustment to price updates to hopefully make things easier for us and our resellers! As promised, the construction guide has been updated with new pages to keep improving its usefulness.

Partition Walls

You can now create internal partition walls that run the length of a shed. So sheds like this are possible!

Or this!

Price Updates

We have modified how the price batch updates work in the system. What used to happen is that Quotec would issue a price update and a reseller would process it to load the prices into their system. However, there were too many instances where resellers forgot about it or didn’t see the notification, did not apply the price update and then obviously got wrong pricing on their jobs.

So now the system will insist you either process the price update or you decline it.

When a price update is issued and it is not actioned, the designer will show a pricing error. It will continue to do so until you process the price update (as you would usually do) or you decline it (new).

A button called Decline has been added to the price update screen. By pressing this, you are telling the system “I acknowledge there is a price update but I don’t want to use it.” This will stop the error from displaying.

Construction Guide

The construction guide has been updated:

  • New partition walls pages.

  • New gutter page

  • New sliding door pages.

  • Updated roller door pages

  • Updated PA door pages.

  • Updated eave brackets.

  • Updated footing tables.

New Suppliers

Gliderol brand roller doors are now supported in Quotec meaning you can now choose between Steel-line, B&D or Gliderol doors. Gliderol has different door offerings for Queensland and the Southern states so two separate brands have been set up to accommodate this: Gliderol QLD and Gliderol. Make sure to select the correct brand for your company and jobs.

In addition, you can now use Lysaght as a steel or roller door supplier. All pricing for Lysaght will be managed via the Lysaght - Head Office record however you will need to select the required branch for ordering purposes. For more information on using Lysaght specifically, see Lysaght Set-Up and Use.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed. When a proposal is done for a building which has a motor on the roller door, the motor should show on the proposal with the roller door.

  • Fixed. When saving a customer on a new job, where the customer does not have a mobile number, the system would display an error.

  • Fixed. Plan drawings in engineering drawings work better when using horizontal cladding and on slab columns.

  • Fixed. Plan drawings did not show jamb/mullion measurements on the front wall of awnings.

  • Updated. Eave length and hole calculations have been improved, especially for single bay buildings.

  • Fixed. Adding miscellaneous items to the purchase order was broken in the last version.

  • Updated. When designing a shed in Colorbond Night Sky it was very hard to see the details because it was completely black. We have changed the colour slightly so it is not completely black but is darker than Monument Grey.

  • Enhanced. When a girt was supplied for the edge of a curtain wall (top or bottom) it could overlap with a standard girt. The standard girt will now be removed so there is no overlapping girt.

  • Fixed. If a name which included an apostrophe was used in an email subject, it was being replaced with a html code, which looked ugly.

  • Updated. The Unit Of Measure for downpipes and bay bracing tophat will now be shown as 2.4 M or 6 M instead of 1 ROLLM on the purchase orders.
