Version 1.30 - Release Notes

Released June 2nd 2022

New Engineering

  • Quotec can now do gable AND skillion garages up to 12m wide. (Note, there are some cases right at the top end of bay size and wind speed designs where skillion is not available, but for 95% of cases 12m skillions are now a thing!)

  • Quotec can now also do 7b and 9b garages!

  • ALL garages can now use on slab connection. For larger C-section, epoxy chemset bolts are used to assist with connections.

Windows

You can now move windows vertically and stack them above other windows, roller doors, etc!

On the window editor, you now have buttons to move the window vertically.

Engineering Drawings

  • The Concrete Slab Plan now shows measurements to the inside face of the bracket, which means the bracket thickness no longer impacts the measurement. (It used to show to the edge of the bracket.) Note, this is for new jobs only. Existing drawings still use the old measurement method.

  • If your building bays are big enough to require Tophat 22 as a bracing, that item will now be shown on the engineering drawings.

Hole Punching

You can now specify options for the hole punch drawings. This will be useful for resellers who use a different steel supplier who require hole punching to be done in a different way. Note this ONLY impacts the drawings and not the exported hole punch. Contact us if you have special requirements.

  • You can specify if the numbers go left to right or right to left.

  • You can specify whether the offset numbers are from end of post to hole (Cumulative) or whether they are from last hole to the next hole (Centre to Centre).

  • You can specify whether the Away is to be at the top or bottom.

You can specify these options for both C-Section and Z-Section. Go to your steel supplier, to the Ordering section and use C-Section Hole Punch Drawing and Z-Section Hole Punch Drawing options - for more detailed instructions see Adjust Hole Punching Drawings .

Price Updates

We have introduced a new feature to make it easier for you to apply price updates to your system.

When we import pricing into Quotec and publish it, that price batch will be available for you to apply. Selecting Cost Updates from the ITEMS menu will display the following screen:

This shows the price batches that Quotec have published. The Deployed column at the end will show you whether or not you have applied that price change.

When you click on a batch, it will display a window like this:

You can click the Download button to download a spreadsheet with the new costs. This is exactly the same spreadsheet format you would have seen in the past. An extra benefit is that it will show you the % difference between the new cost and the current. You can check the spreadsheet and change it if you want. If you make changes, you can then import it using the standard import costs feature you have always used.

However, if you are happy with the costs, you simply need to click Deploy. The system will load the prices into your system. The benefits to this approach are:

  • You can get the published price files at any time without asking Quotec.

  • You can see if you have deployed the price file.

  • Compare new to old prices.

  • Faster process to load the prices.

Purchase Orders

  • If you manually enter your own notes on a purchase order, you can now delete them. If a note can be deleted, the delete button will appear at the top corner:

A deleted note will look like this:

  • The notes recorded for delivery confirmation and dispatch now record more information. They show the date that was entered and the email addresses to whom the notifications were sent.

  • The search screen has a new Delivery/Customer Name field. When a name (can be a partial name) is entered in here, it will look for POs with matching delivery name or customer name.

Retired Colours

We have been informed that a few Colorbond colours will be retired. We have updated the designer to warn you of that:

Your supplier may have some stock left and the order can still go through but we advise you check! This is just a warning to show you that you may have a problem. Note this is just a sample, they’re not the actual colours or dates!

Q-Plate Freight

New freight rules have been added for Q-Plates. The system will do a better job of identifying in-slab footing bracket orders from normal orders and whether the delivery is to a consolidated steel supplier, reseller, or site. This means the freight estimates for the job will be more accurate. If you have a special relationship with Stoddarts where you don’t get charged freight for delivery to your site, please contact us and we will help you set up appropriate freight rules for your business.

Miscellaneous

  • You can now design buildings up to 150m in length.

Bug Fixes

  • Hole punching for BTB columns and rafters where the job used bolted Z-Purlins, did not add the holes to bolt the columns together.

  • We have also reduced the number of bolts being supplied for some knee connector plates.

  • The trim angle along a skillion roof line was slightly too short.

  • When using front or back eaves, the gutter, barge and ridge gap were the right length but didn’t allow any extra to help with installation.

  • When upgrading the C-Section for a portal frame on a building that required a knee brace, the knee brace was not getting upgraded properly.

  • Made PA door jambs slightly longer where the top of the PA door was very close to a girt.
