Version 1.32 - Release Notes
Released August 15th 2022
Internal Upgrades
Periodically its important to upgrade the internal bits of any software system to ensure that it continues to use technology supported by software providers like Microsoft. We have done quite a bit of such upgrading in this version, with some more to come in the months ahead. This allows us to continue to develop great new features for Quotec! So not a lot of new features in this version but we still managed to fit in some useful mods for you!
No Knee Brace Option
Garages and sheds up to 15m can now be designed without knee braces. In System Configuration, you can set your preferred knee brace option:
No Knee Brace Where Possible will use a bigger C-section for the framing. Ok To Use Knee Brace will use a knee brace where possible as this will be a cheaper option.
The designer will then use that option when designing a new building. You can change the setting for a specific job by going to the Building tab and changing the Knee Brace option:
Areas
The Areas for pricing are now working correctly. Up until now, Areas were always just National. But Areas allow you to specify different suppliers for different areas, e.g. NSW and Qld. You define an Area using postcodes. When a Job is created it matches its postcode to the Area. If you think this is a feature that would be useful to you, check the help files or contact the Quotec Support Team.
Engineering Documentation
The Engineering documentation for South Australia has been expanded to include the Development Application Form.
System Configuration
In System Configuration you can specify defaults for PA door, sliding door and windows.
Note that for sliding doors and windows, they are limited by windspeed. So when you select a default sliding door or window, use the typical item you would use for your area. If you design a shed that is outside of your usual windspeed, the default may not be used if it doesn’t match the windspeed.
Bug Fixes
The engineering details based on the windspeed, e.g. building classification, terrain category, etc were not displaying on the proposal or engineering documents.
If you changed Q-plates to be delivered directly to you instead of your steel supplier, the consolidation fee for fasteners was not being added.
