Managing Multiple Designs
Customers rarely know exactly what they want the first time so how do you manage these changes? Once you’ve quoted a design you’ll still be able to unlock it to make changes before it’s been purchased. However, this is only recommended for minor updates in the design or changes your customer is certain they want made. So what do you do if they’re not sure what design they want?
Quotec recommends utilising the customer records and creating multiple jobs each with a different design. This way you can easily keep track of each design and have no trouble moving forward if your customer decides they want to go ahead with a previous design.
To easily create variations of your designs use the COPY function. This will generate a new job with the exact details of the copied job which you can then save and apply the new changes to.
All of the below jobs have been assigned to the same customer record for Clark Kent. They are each a slightly different version of the same enquiry meaning that you can easily swap between each quote as the customer decides which they prefer.
If your customer decides they don’t want to proceed with a job simply mark it as DECLINED. You’ll still have a record of the design in your system if you need to search for it but it won’t immediately show on your JOBS page.
Now if we search for all the open jobs linked to Clark Kent this quote no longer shows.
To see all Clark’s previous quotes (including those he’s declined) all we need to do is change the Status search from “Open Jobs” to “All Jobs”.
